    Exactly Bob. When I was in my 20s, and in the Navy, the local theatre played it occasionally. All of us would go, ten, most times. We would boo and hiss when the old white lady would tell Remus not to tell his stories about how Bre’r Rabbit would outsmart the other two….Bre’r Bear and Bre’r Fox. THEY were represented in the film with actors as the two white kids.There were actually folks (us) that were keenly aware of the racism. There’s always been a bluebird on my shoulder. @eromlig…. You don’t see that?? It’s very obvious.

    Back in the 70s I had a friend who had a VW bus, and across the front of it he had painted EL Gato. When I asked him what it meant he said ….The Tick….. we’ve laughed about that for years!!!
