No, that’s incorrect. You can say “despite my perfect grades” or “in spite of my perfect grades,” but not “despite of.”

But that’s the entire question. Did I in fact make a choice to type that response and submit it? It felt like I did make a choice, but how do I know that this feeling is accurate? Sometimes I feel like I’m being watched, even though I’m not. So maybe I feel like I’m making decisions, when I’m not. Not all feelings are accurate, only some. I know I typed the response and submitted it, but I have no idea if I typed it using free will.

How do you know free will does exist, though? I’m happy to listen to your proof, but you’re not presenting any. In fact, you seem to have misunderstood the question. We’re not saying that free will doesn’t matter, but that it doesn’t seem to exist, since the law of cause and effect affects the impulses in our brain.

Again, I’m happy to listen to your proof that the laws of cause and effect stop working inside our brains, or that our brains don’t make our decisions, but you need to present that proof, you know?

It’s weird how they’re using some real anime names now and not only fictional copies.

    Minor correction: It’s “Osamu”.

That seems kinda unlikely, considering that big anime eyes don’t really look like western eyes. They just feel that way to us westerners, since our cartoons and comics traditionally give Asian people eyes Asian eyes (if that’s the right term) while western people’s eyes can look any old way. (Beetle Bailey’s Corporal Yo, and his eyes, is a good example.)Read 90s comics by Jim Lee or Rob Liefeld and you’ll see how their eyes look much thinner, the way you’d design a Japanese character. Despite this, no readers say that the characters looked Asian in those comics, because we don’t “read” them as looking Asian. It’s the same principle in play with anime eyes. Japanese viewers don’t “read” the big eyes as Western.

Reminds me of my own childhood. I’d watch any cartoon that I got a chance to see. We were starved for entertainment in those days…

“It’s a guy who’s the right hand of Avon Barksdale! I’d tell you more, but I don’t wanna spoil the show!”

Since a while back, usually while reading.

“Postie notes” sounds so fake. I know they wanna avoid mentioning brand names, but this feels like when people in TV shows go on “FaceSpace” and do a “Dooglesearch”.
