Joe Biden does not have an open border policy. His policy has been more humane than that of the previous admin. That does not make it open border. And even if his admin did, it would be attributed to his Christianity.

Besides everyone knows that border policy is created by Congress. Trump put the kabosh on a conservative bill that would have solved the border because he wanted it as a campaign issue. That shows Trump is not interested in solving America’s problems.

There are profound differences between the US and other countries: unlike most other countries, the U.S. was founded by immigrants and its population expanded by immigration; immigrants helped make the U.S. great; the U.S. has a much larger territory and much larger economy than other countries.

Joe has done, and will continue to do, a good job because he has good judgment as seen in his choosing the right leaders for the Executive Branch and setting the United States future direction. I’ve been screaming for years that the presidency is not one person. But the nature of the media is to treat it as such, and the stupid conservatives on SCOTUS have recently done the same thing in their immunity case mal-decision, due to their inability to understand the plain 18th century meaning of the Framers’ English. With the Armed Forces the Executive Branch of government employs over 4 million Americans, I believe. The President and his closest advisors vet and choose the leaders of most of the departments and agencies, mostly with Senate approval. Now imagine the disaster that will ensue for the country if Trump and his closest advisors get to choose these agency “leaders” and fill these positions with the lickspittle d-listers being assembled by the America-hating, Constitution-destroying Project 2025 designers. Americans should fear Trump at the wheel, not Biden, who also has an experienced and competent alternative driver in Kamala Harris should the need arise.

An as if to bring home the point, Louisiana Republicans will post the Ten Commandments on school room walls, presumably because, since Trump has violated all 10, children can learn what it is they are permitted to violate in order to emulate Trump.

The kebab photo is wrong. In Germany kebab refers to very popular fast food kebab sold in small shops that seem to be everywhere. They don’t usually sell the shish kebab. rather it is more of Turkish variety sandwich using pita or a wrap using chicken or beef that is similar to a gyro, which I think is more common in the US. The German Left Party proposed this because of rising prices and the popularity of the food.

Starmer is no King, Arthur or otherwise. And he will need wise Merlins to get the UK back on track after his predecessors all proclaimed to have found the Holy Grail, which was popularly known as Brexit. As predicted, it is was a false Grail and the UK was greatly diminished after they all drank vinegar from that false Cup of Brexit. (BTW, in the USA, we spell it Excalibur.)

These repulsive anti-democratic ideas will take more than a book ban…or even a bonfire. They’re now baked into the fascist dough of the MAGA Front Party (nee Republican, nee GOP).

Yeah, I had forgotten that. Nice obscure reference.

The New Popular Front is facing difficult task: how to get past Melenchon to form a workable and, hopefully, successful government with Macron’s center party, in order to set the stage for presidential elections a few years hence. I don’t see the Socialist-Green alliance necessarily following Melenchon off the cliff, although it’s possible.

It’s National Rally. I forgot they changed their name to confuse people, especially non-French like me.
