   Yesterday (Friday the 29th) was Tucker’s 16th Gotcha Day. I’m so glad to have my little BFF still with me. Maybe with some love and luck, we can make it to another one.

   I have a basset hound that held Sweet Honesty, and an owl that held some type of floral cream cologne—oddly, that owl now smells very good to me, though the contents are long gone.

   I didn’t even have that excuse—my big territory was a couple of floors in my dorm, under 100 possible customers. I hated the colognes, cringed when anybody bought one, and hoped I wouldn’t encounter the buyer in the elevators. Then there was the foreign student who took an hour to decide on a nail “ENuhmell” (accent on the first syllable) and then decided she didn’t like any of them. I think I resigned after that particular campaign. One of my friends was a little more dedicated to the sales life than I was so I just bought stuff (mostly bath stuff and skin care) from her after that.

   True! But maybe Freddie or one of the volunteers sold Avon back in the day to make a few extra $$ for the shelter. [Full disclosure—I was an “Avon Lady” for a brief time in college, and the world’s worst, didn’t have time for it with classes and working full time. I picked out what I wanted from each “campaign”, and then usually sold just enough to pay for my own stuff.]
