I hate to think what that sound level was doing to their ears when the ear-buds are plugged in.

Do they still make 5-buckle galoshes? That was a big thing when I was in elementary school.

My home here on the “North Coast”, AKA Great Lakes, had its first 3 in or greater snowfall in one day since last March. A lot of people around here are flaming the snowplow contractors they paid in advance for the season to plow only if there were 3 inches or more of snow.

    L. L. Bean has a new take on “relaxed fit”. They have pants with elastic bands built into the inside of the waistband on the left and right sides. This gives you about 5 cm of expansion room.

First, you need to remember how many ounces in a pound. There are 1000 grams in a kilogram, so the math is much easier for 1 or 2 kg of eggs in the package and a recipe calling for 280 g of eggs.

This is a great example of why the System Internationale/Metric System is better. The comments about the practicality of the problem are also spot on. It reminds me of a physics problem involving a train approaching the station at 9/10 the speed of light.

The robins here on the north coast came out of the woods two weeks ago. We already saw the first snowdrops. Large formations of migratory geese have been flying west to cross over into Canada and their nesting grounds. On the other hand, the juncos are still showing up under the feeders.
