I received a defective CD from TurboTax and was unable to use it; that put me online to download fed and state software. All the new security measures made it slower than normal, but can now get extension done! And …

The splint is off; however, I will still have to live as if it is on plus watch for swelling or pain and if that comes up, I need to get hold of my doctor immediately; the other thing is when I leave my house, I will have to have shoes on my feet; no more flip-flops outside!

I was the designated driver for two rabbis when they moved here – they had lived in NYC and no need for car; both are excellent drivers now. When I grew up, lived in small town and always walked to do errands and that continued into adulthood. I was always fascinated with people who spent 20 minutes looking for a parking space when they could have walked there and been home in that same 20 minutes!

I made the decision today that the splint comes off on Wednesday – with or without doctor approval! I can wear the heavy duty compression socks the vascular cardiologist prescribed a few years back; that will give my ankle stability and even compression plus I will be able to take care of myself! After 15 days of it; know my friend is tired. I also hit point of choice between breathing or walking; I chose breathing!!

Storms may keep me away from appointment on Wednesday morning. Sherry can’t take me … after 15 days I know it is getting old! You are using kilograms and our weight is in pounds, Your calculations for kilograms are probably correct. The standard weight for a stone is 14 pounds(British) per Google. If I which divide those same 14 pounds into my current weight (fully dressed) the answer is 6.4285714 – multiplying the calculated stone weight x 14 gives the answer of 89.999999 or 90 pounds. We were not taught stone weight or kilograms either when I was in school – it may be totally different now. The first attempt to convert us to the metric system was a total failure.

If Google is wrong, please tell me.

Today, when Sherry checked the splint, I had gouges in my skin from the straps. I also had an abrasion close to my ankle where the splint had almost rubbed it raw. My appointment is not until Wednesday and if my friend can’t take me (she has full size SUV that can go through deep water) it will be longer. I will wear compression socks, but I can’t be asking someone to come daily to take off splint any more. We used some Viva paper towel to give my skin some protection and she will return in a.m. to replace it with gauze. The air cast splint would be wonderful if I had use of both hands. I don’t need to tell you how bad an abrasiion can be for a diabetic!

Here, some people can get by without a car, but it is incredibly difficult – some routes only run once an hour and there are only a few on weekends. I have offered a couple of seniors on overly extreme weather. I know the waits are miserable in winter! I’m glad you haven’t had problems, Since I can’t fly, driving is the only option.
