Awww, just what she needed after Chesney’s snakiness this week. Woke up at 2:30 with the feeling of water in my ear, then strong pain as if something was crawling inside. Put on the coffee and considered the ER – 40 miles away – but first read about it on webmd and it’s apparently not uncommon and can have many causes. Homemade ear drying drops equal parts white vinegar and alcohol were suggested and it’s feeling better but I am also very congested. So it’s a wait and see…
Yes and yes. The snowmelt from the Sierra once had our valley lush and green until Mulholland bought up water rights and the aqueduct was built to divert most of the water to LA. It’s an ongoing battle to keep enough for toxic dust control and the needs of the people and wildlife living here, including the ranchers growing alfalfa.
No lightning for Annie, she does love Chesney. Took a longer steeper hike yesterday then planned, 8 1/2miles round trip with 1500 foot elevation gain and crisscrossing confusing dead end trails. The initial trail climbs a hill above a damed up lake and is protected from the morning sun then curves around into shaded aspens and pines, but the afternoon slog back down gets the relentless afternoon sun. The highlight was watching 3 bald eagles fly the length of the dam, then circle over me calling to each other with their melodious chatter.
Our library has an ancient computer that I have occasionally used when I wanted to print out something. I have an iPhone but use it very little for the internet, the small screen annoys me. And I have to sign in to everything which means remembering those stooopid passwords.
Such a rant he is on!! Yesterday my laptop went black and after nearly an hour on the phone with Apple tech, they decided it was likely the hard drive and it would be replaced at no cost. Just for fun this morning I hit the power button and it came on with a message that it had restarted after a problem was detected. I called tech and they suggested I still send it in as this will likely happen again. But at least I can see Ten Cats today on a big screen.
It wasn’t an insect, just felt like one!
