My oldest son had his tonsils and adenoids removed [in the late 70’s] when he was a preschooler – and tubes in his ears. He had what was called ‘kissing tonsils’ because they were so enlarged he drooled constantly and we had difficulty understanding his speech. A plus is he doesn’t get infected tonsils, the negative is the germs go right down his throat and he gets upper respiratory infections easily.
I wish I could magically fly to see my son and his family in Japan more often [from the PNW] – the 3 times I’ve visited took every ounce of courage I possess.
