Hi all! How’s this for an excuse? For some reason I went through all of yesterday thinking it was Friday, so it didn’t even occur to me to post last night. Apologies! Luckily, mabrndt alerted me to the situation this morning and I’ve just uploaded the new one, so hopefully it will appear shortly. Thanks for your patience with the occasional “Priceless” snafu. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Best, Steve

Hi, Sol. To answer your question, yes, it was pure coincidence that this ended up here again on its 10th anniversary. In fact, I hadn’t even noticed that until mabrndt brought your comment to my attention. As I sometimes do, I chose this Throwback by doing a random search through the GC archive, so it was truly a matter of happenstance. BTW, the reason some of the earlier GC posts have a different date from the blog is because when I first started on GC, I was working from a huge backlog of blog material. Posting 7 days a week back then, I eventually caught up and now (mostly) post the same thing on both the same day.

Working on that! Check back third quarter of this year.

Yes, MS72, for sure. I’ve approached a few licensing agencies over the years and I worked with one for awhile. They got me a modest deal for a few cards with NobleWorks, if you’re familiar with them. Generally I’ve been told it’s hard to license unless you’re already a hugely popular IP (apparently the market has constricted a lot over the past decade or so), but I still look into it when I run into people on that side of the business.

Howdy, everyone! I’m back with yet another “Priceless”-related announcement, and this time it’s the opening of the new “That Is Priceless” Etsy store! You may be asking, “Why an Etsy store, Steve? Isn’t there already a Zazzle store?” Well yes, good point, but I find the Etsy store interface easier to use than the Zazzle one (for both the buyer and the seller), and it gives me a chance to freshen up the inventory, so I thought I’d give it a try. That said, the Zazzle store is still fully operational, so feel free to do any shopping there if you’d prefer. Merchandise-wise, there’s a bit of cross-over between them.

Right now, the Etsy store is heavy on mugs (about 50) and light on greeting cards (about 10), but if it looks like people are into it, I’ll keep adding items. In fact, if you’ve got a favorite Masterpiece you’d like to see on a mug, card, magnet, candle, digital print, or what-have-you, just message me through the store and I’ll try to make it happen. I’ll also be checking in here the next couple days if you’ve got any comments/suggestions.

If you feel like popping in, just click on the Etsy widget down at the bottom of the page there.

Thanks! Have a great weekend everybody.

Happy New Year, everyone! Just stopping by to say that if anybody’s interested in a glimpse at what I do when I’m NOT re-purposing classic art for laughs, I invite you to check out the new Fox game show “The Floor,” hosted by Rob Lowe, debuting tonight at 9/8 pm. I was a producer on it. Thanks!

Ha! I’ll have to share that with my own son. He just wrote his first Art History paper on James Ensor, who apparently was not impressed by the Impressionists either.

Hi all! First off, I’d like to say thanks for all your support of the recent “That Is Priceless” books. I decided to crank one more out before the holidays. This one’s called “The Fine Art of Parenting” and it has about 70 of the best parenting-related Masterpieces from over the years. A great gift for new parents and hardened veterans alike. If you’re interested, the link for it is down there below the Comments. Thanks, and have a great weekend! Steve

LOL. I was working off the 23 and Me website, which as you know, is the only reputable source when it comes to genetic science. According to them, full siblings share between 38-61% of their DNA, so I was basing the caption on that. Apologies if that’s inaccurate, but at least it’s spurred some interesting commentary!

Ha! Glad the technical mishap happened to be so perfectly timed for you schedule-wise. Enjoy the show!
