No, it’s not hypocritical to change your mind as facts come in. The problem is that dumb fucks like you took Fauci’s advice to shut things down and you threw a hissy fit, and politicized everything, and now we’ve got more virulent strains every year. And still you dipshits won’t vaccinate so we can reach the point of herd immunity, which guarantees that no matter what Fauci says or does, he’ll have people like you making his job 20000x harder than it needs to be.

    1) the article is describing the man-hours required to process the mountain of requests, not a hard and fast “This is definitely going to take 55 years to complete”

    2) your “news” is simply an opinion piece masquerading as a reuters wire article, which — judging from the rest of your info — is hardly surprising. If you don’t believe me, other than the clearly opinionated language in the entire piece, the last line should be a dead giveaway “Opinions expressed here are those of the author. Reuters News, under the Trust Principles, is committed to integrity, independence and freedom from bias.”

RARRR EVERYONE FEAR INFLATION NOW THAT WE CAN BLAME A DEMOCRAT FOR THE ECONOMY AGAIN.

The problem with fully human-less autonomous driving is that our current infrastructure is NOT made to handle such demands. Look up “adversarial inputs”, which is just one of the many and varied ways to attack the AI handling the vehicle. Essentially, if you put a sticker on a stop sign, the AI can’t tell if it’s a stop sign or something else, and often times makes the wrong decision.

Yeah yeah, the technology is getting better every day, but unless and until autonomous vehicles have their own infrastructure, there are just literally too many variables. And at that point, if we’re building infrastructure for autonomous vehicles, we should just go ahead and install a far superior mass transit system instead, which is capable of moving lots of people, not just a single human.

I’m pretty sure the comic is about how lil’ Muskie hasn’t gotten into low Earth orbit like the other billionaire playboys. He only shot a car into space, not himself.

Geez, it’s like you can’t fly in migrant workers, steal their passports, pay them shitty wages, and prevent them from leaving the worker’s compound any more without the whole world noticing and making a fuss….

Eh, at least half what conservatives said Billy Jeff did was forged from whole cloth, and had little basis in actual objective reality.

I’m pretty sure Gloria Steinem emancipated the American suburban women, not Abraham Lincoln.

The average squirrel forgets the location of something like 75% of the nuts they bury, so leasing a permanent storage facility for the winter is a good way to stay ahead of your contemporaries when spring comes around.

Just this morning, someone in my social media feed was posting about how proud they are to be white, and how it shouldn’t be racist to celebrate their whiteness. They may or may not listen to my explanation of why that’s actually very racist, but I left one anyway.
