    Perhaps. In my experience with agencies around the country the good cops far outnumber the bad/corrupt ones. Granted, my experience is not a representative sampling but there are roughly 700,000 cops in the USA and the stats show only a very small number (less than 1% I think) are corrupt.

    36 years on the job and never protected a single bad cop. We had a number of cases investigating bad cops from other agencies and put more in jail than we cleared.
