Not the same situations. Racial persecution cannot be in alignment with fleeing to Canada to avoid the draft. However, one of the reasons I went in the military is so people can have their own opinions. At the end of the day, what she did (the original point of my statement) was completely heinous and morally bankrupt. My tolerance on differing opinions does NOT support her actions on going over for there and doing promotional stunts showing support to kill Americans. She should have stayed.

You mean something like leaving her a little note here and there? Or the occasional small gift? Something that I have done fairly regularly (but randomly) for over 30 years? She believes she should be loved and treated like a queen EVERY day, not just once a year. She doesn’t (and neither do I) like the GRAND gestures. Commitment is shown through little things even through the daily grind that wears you down, making soup when their sick, learning how to lay flooring (and spending every weekend for 2 months doing it) because she wants hardwood and you can’t afford to pay someone.

Most of the men in my family did time in the military. I did a little over 10 years in the Navy, almost 6 of those on war ships (tin cans to those who did their time).

I’ve waited a few days. I also have zero respect for people who ran to Canada and hid. Conscientious objectors who went to prison for their beliefs (not the ones who essentially became terrorists) though, them I have respect for. You have to stand on your convictions. The ones who ran to Canada however, nothing but cowards and should not have been allowed back into the US.

My wife HATES hallmark holidays. If I got her a valentine’s day card, she might throw it away without opening it.

Still have problems with “Hanoi Jane”. It was before my time but that level of disrespect to men who did NOT want to be there but had no choice.

  7. 12 days ago on Clay Bennett

We are watching it this year for the commercials. They have been on a decline last decade but still hopeful they might go back to being entertaining.

Same thing happened to me. Rolled a car in 85 and wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. Took out the windshield but didn’t go through it. Only a couple of cuts on the head though. Most of the bumps were from some amateur rounds in the ring in the late 80’s and early 90’s. So my scars aren’t nearly as bad as yours but wife still doesn’t like them.

My hair has thinned out and I would like to shave my head but my wife says I have an ugly head. Too many scars and lumps from getting hit in the head too many times in my younger days.

No shins, no shin splints. Always be careful in wishing.
