(-Point being that blowing away a little of the IT haze might encourage more meaningful personal interaction, leading to more peaceful community.)
Excellent cartoon. Too bad it takes disasters to unite (some) people.
And on a nerdy note… Perhaps the greatest enhancement to certain parties’ ability to spread nastiness so efficiently has been IT (information technology), which is also an early local casualty of many such disruptions. Perhaps slightly less-efficient communications, that also encourage a bit more reflection, would lower the temperature slightly.
Agreeing with this and other comments here, with one philological observation: while “minions” (per, e.g., www.etymonline.com/word/minion) now means “lowly servants/slaves,” it originally meant something more like “beloved.” And if there’s one thing the so-called pro-lifers make clear, it’s that they have no love at all for the post-born, except for their own dynasties.
Involuntary male circumcision? This could get political.
Bit like Alexander Haig saying “I am in control here” when Reagan was shot.
Wasn’t that called “streaking” in the day?
Yes indeed, as in “The Night of the Hunter” – novel and great movie starring Robert Mitchum.
Perhaps New Haven? Big hills there, and a school of possible relevance.
Long live King Ralph!
