My grandmother worked as a waitress at Durgin Park back in the 60’s. My daughter and I visited Boston in 2019, and we ate at Durgin Park (the best garlic fries I’ve ever had). Sadly, covid took its toll on Durgin Park and it closed in 2020 or 2021.
True story. My dad has a partial plate that he wears. One night, he left the plate on the back of the couch. When he got up the next morning, his dog was laying in the floor with white (teeth) chips around her. Lesson learned the hard way.
The city near where I live has come up with a new way to make a buck. When you check out in a store that uses plastic bags, the computer asks how many bags you used to put your items in. You are then charged 5 cents per bag. Supposedly, the bag tax is used to clean up litter and promote green initiatives. Five cents doesn’t seem like much, but, over the course of a year, those nickles start adding up. Especially for people on a fixed income.
Just remember Cosmo, grass doesn’t grow on a busy street!
