Musk, Santos and probably Trump have all demonstrated that there IS such a thing as bad publicity. Look where it got them.
They remind me of Gerald Ratner, the British owner of a chain of jewellers. He joked on TV “We even sell a pair of gold earrings for under £1, which is cheaper than a prawn sandwich from Marks & Spencer. But I have to say that the sandwich will probably last longer than the earrings.”
Capitalists don’t get rich by being nice, but most have a switch-on smile and lying soundbite. Musk can’t fool the people, because he can’t fool himself.
He doesn’t. He just fails to understand the people element. Capitalism demands a certain hypocrisy. Muskn just treats people like sh*t, and says what he thinks. As what he thinks is pretty unpleasant, it’s a marketing negative. And capitalism demands growth, which demands marketing. And hypocrisy. If you can’t ‘pretend to care’, you’re doomed. And Musk cannot pretend.
Most (again, not all) Christians far prefer selected “rules” from the OT to anything Jesus may (or may not) have said in the NT, and they don’t know, because very few of them have actually read the Bible.
“Capitalism is an economic system in which the means of production are controlled by private owners rather than workers …”
Or anybody else.
Capitalism owns the government, not the otrher way around.
