This applies to any profession, not just educators. Enough time is spent at the workplace. Why eat lunch there, too?

So true. There are adults whose maturity levels are those of a middle-schooler. They somehow never grew up.

Yes, the complaints about the “younger generation” have gone on for, well, generations. However, things are different this time around.

We now have a generation that has spent a large part of its life sitting in front of screens. Psychologists are concerned that children’s developing brains are being “rewired” because of this. Studies have shown that addiction to phones and social media is fueled by increases in dopamine levels. You can search these topics if interested since I don’t have time to list sites… and GoComics no longer allows links anyway.

There is too much reliance on electronic devices, and we have reached the point where technology has become detrimental rather than beneficial for humankind. There are now people who can’t perform simple tasks without implementing some silly “phone app.”

Two of the worst so-called “innovations” in recent times were: (1) the introduction of the smartphone, which doesn’t make people smarter; rather the opposite is occurring, which is why I refer to those gadgets as StupidPhones™; and (2) the subsequent proliferation of moronic social media sites like TikTok. Society has become more dumbed-down, polarized and fragmented ever since, and has begun regressing and devolving.

It will probably take some major catastrophe to turn things around. It’s scary.

The 20th is not a holiday, but cannabis users wish it were. This year there have been restaurants advertising deals that obviously are geared towards drug users who get hungry (the “munchies”) after smoking weed. One example is the Jimmy John’s sandwich chain and their “Deliciously Dope Dime Bag.” They are encouraging illicit drug usage.

“Mess on your neck” is a good description.

I’m not aware of any sort of event which involves April 29.

April 22 is Earth Day. It’s more important than April 20, which drug users have turned into an unofficial “holiday.” The media has recently been pushing the latter.

What is more important? Developing clean, renewable energy sources, reducing carbon emissions and countering global warming? Or getting high? It seems too many people have the wrong set of priorities.
