Two thoughts. 1) How things look to you through your obvious confirmation bias are not necessarily true. 2) Try empathy instead of gaslighting and dismissing other people’s feelings because they don’t align with yours.

I am not a rich straight conservative. I will be lucky if I don’t end up in internment camp under DeSantis.

I am well aware of Justice Thomas’ work and his disturbing lack of legal acumen for a Supreme Court Justice. He makes his decisions based on confirmation bias and ideology and anyone who has told you otherwise, lacks experience with Constitutional law. There is a reason he asks so few questions at oral arguments and writes so few opinions compared to other Justices…it is not because of his overwhelming expertise. I have been reading Supreme Court Opinions and following oral arguments since I graduated law school two decades ago and he has never failed to be unimpressive in comparison to the other justices. He was fortunate to be able to hide in the shadow of a brilliant judge like Justice Scalia for a very long time, but once Scalia died, Thomas’ weakness as a jurist could no longer be hidden.

I love how Marcie is buying into Peppermint Patty’s fantasy this time instead questioning it.

You really don’t know history at all. Promiscuous sex is by no means a recent development in human society. There is reason sexually transmitted diseases were commonplace in society throughout history. And militarily, a universal action taken by successful invaders was the raping of the population that was conquered. And records or evidence of societies using abortion procedures have been found as far back as 1000-1500 B.C. And FYI, Abortion was actually allowed under common law in colonial times until woman starting feeling the movement of the fetus in her womb. That was the historical standard for personhood. Abortion rights weren’t really attacked until the 1900th century had a shift in societal values.
