Making it a binary choice is a logical fallacy. And to quote the Obi-wan, “Only a Sith deals in absolutes.”You can have both, just not at the exact same time. I think a solid argument can be made that safety of the child supersedes the parent being informed immediately. A process would need to be created for handling the situation, but we already have child services processes that straddle a similar line…so precedent exists in our society.
