I thought it well known that military types DO plan to invade other countries as well as plan to defend from said countries – with permutations should there be a coalition(s) of more than one enemy – that’s what they do at West Point and the Naval Academy, etc.. That’s what we pay them for:
To Be Ready.
And there were Plans Red, Plans Blue , Plans White, and so on, because the logistics, equipment, and even uniforms would be different if the enemy is in tropical climes rather than frozen tundra – and everything in between. Or if the enemy is in a coalition with say, a NATO network – I’d rather have them with me than against me – and you can’t straddle that fence forever!
It’s actually fascinating in its own sad way – at least as an intellectual exercise. ’Not a bit different from chess. Except for the deaths.
The low regard the current “administration” has for military professionals makes me fear the people in charge lack the intellect to actually understand the ramifications of what happens when that button is pushed.
But if its intent was to broadcast fear, uncertainty, and doubt like a third-grade bully – well – doesn’t that sound like something a child would do?
(sigh)
