Personally, my biggest problem with Turning Red is the protagonist’s absolute disrespect for her parents. I get that teenagers acting rebellious towards their parents is a common trope in pop culture, but the way Mei Lee treated her parents after everything they’ve done for her especially broke my heart! And she learned absolutely nothing from all of this!

I feel ya. I remember a story of a nasty prank played on a teenager using the “Ice Bucket Challenge”. It was pretty disgusting what those high school students did to that poor kid.
