Math was always pretty easy for me, but that doesn’t mean I enjoyed any of it. I especially got fed up with it when they tried to tell me that i is a number. It is not, I can accept that you cannot take the square root of -1 and everyone else should accept that too. That’s why we can’t have world peace, it’s all math’s fault.
As long as I remember, my mom sat in the waiting room while I was getting my teeth cleaned. Admittedly, my memories are pretty spotty before age 5, so maybe she was and I don’t recall.
I was a kid in the 80’s (well, 70’s too but I don’t remember them) and grew up in a rural area, so a lot of people didn’t wear seatbelts. My dad, however, was a driver’s ed instructor, so seatbelts were always mandatory for us. The only exception was with our 1970 something Chevy Blazer. If we were over capacity, us kids could ride in the way back, which did not have seatbelts. Back then the seatbelt laws weren’t strictly enforced, so I remember many a trip where we’d be back there waving to the cops behind us, and they’d just wave back and go on their way.
I kinda look forward to when I’m old enough to move into one of those 55+ communities. I’ll still have many years of work ahead of me, but most of the ones I’ve seen are much nicer than the condo I currently own, and for me the plus would be that other than the occasional visiting grandchild, there would be no permanently residing children there. While the prices have certainly gone up, they also tend to be more affordable than other places, for what you get at any rate.
So Elvis always is in the bedroom when strangers arrive, is that because he goes there and hides, or do the people put him in there because he gets too stressed out or attacks strangers?
I remember hoping that something would happen. I was in my first final year of college (took me a few times) and I had accumulated what was to me a huge amount of credit card debt. $500, which when I didn’t have $500 might as well have been $5 million. So yeah, I was hoping all computers would crash and the debt would disappear into the ether. I eventually got a job and took care of it the proper way, but Y2K was such a letdown.
