    Without the testimony of other people, the first “mistake” would be meaningless. The second clue would have worked better if we could have seen the empty hand of the deceased. I thought the problem was that Melrose knew that it was “in the middle of the night.”

    Huh. I have an idea for a mystery; does the artist accept sincere suggestions?

    Both cylinders look identical, so I assumed they were both 6-shooters and suspected the two suspects of killing him jointly.

    Discounting the pillows, the hairbrush clue was a pretty good one.Anyone recognize the style of the first painting in panel 4? That style shows up in this strip a lot. Too bad the artist dies in one of them.
