This is one traffic jam where you really don’t want to rear-end someone.

Folks, I’ve said it before, but once again: richgrunkleduck is a troll. Don’t reply to his mewlings; you’re only giving him the oxygen he craves.

Most, not all, but most of the rich people I’ve met are sociopaths whose only concerns are money and pleasure. And of course, the domination of others. The concepts of “ethics” and “treating people well” don’t usually come into the picture unless legally mandated, and sometimes not even then.

There used to be an all-natural coating like you described (sugar) but that caused other problems.

They’re planning to make windshield wiping an add-on subscription service, just like they do with heated seats, etc. in some models today. You’d have to pay a nominal fee (say, 1.99/month) if you wanted to be able to turn them on. Or just don’t drive in the rain.

A lot of stuff from the 70s was good, too. B-52s, early Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Ramones, even more obscure stuff like King Crimson, Tangerine Dream etc… I could go on all day. But how about “Muskrat Love”? How about (shudder) Barry Manilow? “Stayin’ Alive”? “Run Joey Run”? “Forever in Blue Jeans”? There’s even more I don’t care to remember. Point being, every decade has its low points, too.

There was a lot of good and even groundbreaking material in the 80s. Early REM and U2 were revolutionary before they became commercial (some would say they became sellouts). Goth and techno really got started then, and toward the end you had industrial in the form of Ministry, NIN, and others — all sounds that still influence music today. I still have playlists with the “good” stuff.

I always thought it was odd that Gomer never got shipped off to ’Nam.
