When I was a kid, we used to have those A-bomb drills where we crouched under our desks. Now the kids have lock-down drills for crazed shooters. How sad is it that we can’t protect our children?
There is something to it. Most urban schools use one main entrance with guards and metal detectors. Controlling who comes into the building is just good security. And having the other doors as exit-only for safety.
My tuxedo Charlie went deaf when he was older, and he learned a hand sign for “it’s time to eat” and he would come running. I also stomped on the floor to get his attention.
A slug would be appropriate also.
Oliver North thinks it will make a dandy new motto for the NRA.
You captured Bibi’s smarmy grimace beautifully, Mr. Jones. It gave me the heebie jeebies.
To be fair, part of reason the farm bill didn’t pass was because of the rider slashing the funding for SNAP. It was so extreme even the more reasonable GOPers couldn’t vote for it. Ryan must be so sad. Poor people might still be able to eat.
Of COURSE Hillary did worse! This broken record refrain is so tedious and boring, not to mention WRONG.
My father was a Russian Army soldier who was held in a German POW camp during WW2. He was fortunate to be able to come to the U.S. as a displaced person – otherwise he would have been executed by Stalin’s soldiers if he had been sent back (as many were). Same attitude, as Stalin considered POWs traitors for having been caught. Kind of like Trump denigrating McCain for having been a POW in Nam.
A racial version of gerrymandering. Certain counties, which by coincidence happen to have a very high white majority, are exempt from work requirements. And there are those who say it’s the minorities who want special treatment.
