sez: “A BCN unrelated question, but is anyone else getting notifications for old comment replies and likes? I regularly get notified of likes and replies that happened years ago.”

After reading all the replies, I’d have to say: Try not to worry about it."

…also commonly known as the Stanford Prison Exoperiment. I imagine that people named Zimbardo don’t have to say “No relation” quite as often as people named Milgram when they’re introduced to someone new.

It wouldn’t be surprising if he were (although he was famously a good sport when the gang abused his good nature and trusting manner). But for the benefit of those who aren’t aware, that comment (and indeed the strip itself) was a callback to the first “Peanuts” strip ever, right down to Shermy and Patty sitting on the curb.

Interesting fact: in that first strip, CB didn’t have the zigzag stripe on his shirt, just a plain white tee (I like to imagine he was humming “Hey There, Delilah” to himself as he sauntered along).

sez: “The conservative mantra: ‘Rule of Law doesn’t matter if it’s for the good of the country (and me).’”

Please stop abusing the word “conservative.” The Republican Party has been the party of crazed radicals since at least 1994. There’s nothing CONSERVATIVE about them (“ultra right wingers” and “reactionaries” are perfectly cromulent terms for them).

It’s a sin to vote for a Republican. If even a few people who believe that sin is a real thing hesitate to cast votes for Republicans (ANY Republicans), the message will have succeeded, so SPREAD THE WORD!

We can argue somewhere else about whether Butch was THE main character. MY point is that Christopher Walken’s rectum probably wouldn’t have kept a watch wound up either.

Not in the film, no. But Jiminy DID “host” several educational shorts (mostly about instilling values and safety awareness) directed at kids.

On an unrelated note, I’m glad this happened in the spring. I’m not confident that she’d fare as well in the snow as Elvis did (though to be sure, he was no Balto himself).
