The Pets exist to make the rest of their Division look good. Kind of like why Vanderbilt is in the SEC.

So you’re saying that he did know how to spell ‘potato’ but allowed himself to be corrected by an idiot despite knowing what it would look like? Gee. That also makes him look even more stupid than I’d thought.

Laddie, I was in Indiana when Danny was elected to the Senate during the first Reagan landslide. Danny was then little known outside Indiana, being a two-term Congresscritter. He was very well known inside Indiana, and not in a good way. A major factor in his political career was the influence of his father’s newspapers; I find it laughable that some say that the media was against him when he was created by the media. Hint: Indiana is very conservative. IIRC the polls closed in Indiana at 6 pm that year, and ‘the media’ (NBC…) posted that Ronnie (and Danny) had won Indiana by 6:30. It wasn’t close. I was bloody there.

    Do carry on, now.

The only question is: ‘Which end is he going to apply the lipstick?’

Good luck talking to an actual human at Google. I used to have a Gmail account. One day, Google decided that it wasn’t sure that I was really me; by sheer coincidence, it was right after I declined to use their ‘superior’ email client and to connect the account to MS Outlook. This was several years ago. I still have never been able to communicate with anyone human at Google. I have deleted all things Google from all my personal systems. I’m sure that Google doesn’t care, but hey…

I have several throwaway email addresses from free sites like Yahoo and Outlook.com, which are normally NOT monitored and which I use for ‘registration’ nonsense. I ‘register,’ keep an eye on that address long enough to get the email they send ‘for registration purposes’ and acknowledge that email, then ignore the address for a while. Every now and again, I nuke the spam. Yahoo keeps nagging me to try to get a cell phone number to ‘enhance’ ‘security’ and to allow ‘recovery’ of the address if there’s a problem; I ignore them. If there’s a ‘problem,’ as the address was a throwaway, I nuke the address and generate a new one.

    Executives. Not staff.

Even if this were true… he didn’t know how to spell ‘potato’? Really? Is that your final answer? Because that makes him seem even more stupid than I’d thought, and I’d thought that he was pretty stupid.

Squirrels eat anything, including the insulation from power cables. This means that they also try to eat the cable, and there’s a bright flash, and the power goes out in the house, and you get to find the fried squirrel before it starts to stink. Among the things they eat which they’re not supposed to are ackees; ackee and codfish is a popular dish in Jamaica, but ackees have to be properly prepared or they’ll kill you; raw ackees are seriously poisonous. So, for decades, bringing ackees into the US was illegal. The large number of Jamaican immigrants in the US would not be denied their ackees, so they snuck ackees in and planted trees all over South Florida. South Florida squirrels love ackees. They especially love the little black seeds, the most poisonous part. They’re supposed to die. They don’t. They’re Mutant Poison-Eating Rodents! Fear the Tree Rats, for they cannot die! (Unless they bite into a power cable…)

Squirrels: rats with fluffy tails. And less in the way of morals.
