This is great fun… comics within comics. :)
There’s a thought… is this a figment of Marx’s imagination? Marx could’ve rattled off “10977381-Z/G6-Sigma” off the top of his head and it means nothing. Sometimes I tend to think Marx is running the show behind the scenes, calling all the shots, and he might not be.
I’m assuming that Marx has been in this particular “Sub-Reality” before, to know that it has great beer. I’m also assuming he has an encyclopedic memory, to recognize where he is and remember this sub-reality “ID code number”. How many are there? Judging by that lengthy designation, quite a few.
I’m not too keen on his laughing at them, amusing himself at their expense. Get on with it, Marx, and stop tormenting them!
Inquiring minds want to know. We care about our Wally!
I like Alan’s comment: “What is the point of all this?” I’m sitting back waiting to see if Wally materializes in front of them. Then they can celebrate with a picnic.
Marx evidently knows what’s going on, but in true Marx fashion is keeping our crew in the dark.
“A titch of body-snatching”? Will our favorite cat perhaps be restored?
Group: “We thought you were dead!”
Wally: “I was. I’m better now.”
Agreed. To what end, we don’t know yet. I really hope this isn’t truly the end for Wally.
It wasn’t easily apparent, no. I had to re-examine the last panel and lighten it up a bit to see it more clearly.
I have the Babylon 5 series on DVD; hubby and I rewatched that very episode a few nights ago. :) It may indeed be that Wally & Co. are in-between time at the moment, with an infinite amount of time (non-time?) to resolve all this before leaving this nexus area and rescuing Kirbee, Chic, and anyone else left in Eden Colony.
I’m also curious about the fate of that panda gal, one of the administrators of Eden Colony. First time we see Ms. Panda:
Who clues Wally in that Eden isn’t what it seems. Since we know Eden was a micro-bit of reality, that explains why Wally wasn’t allowed to continue using dittoes to excavate… they’d’ve punched through the bubble.
Reading this strip again:
We now know that they’re Topsider volunteers who were transformed and managed the day-to-day functions of the Eden Colony experiment.
Who’s left besides Terrance?
