Spring is my favorite season, the renewal of outdoor life. It’s not that I hate fall, it’s actually my favorite after spring. It’s what follows that bothers me. I absolutely hate winter. I’m not a cold weather person. If we could go from spring back to fall, I’d be one happy person.

Ironically, I was born and raised in Ohio, but when I had the chance to move, what did I do? I moved north. Doesn’t make much sense, does it?

I used to deliver mail and one day I saw a small dog running loose on a leash. I tried to grab it hoping I could find out where it belonged, but it scurried into the woods and I couldn’t find it. My biggest fear was that leash would get caught on something and he’d be trapped. There were coyotes in those woods.

Tuna in vegetable oil isn’t quite as mushy as tuna in water. And I think it tastes better, too. But you’re right. They’re both mushier than they used to be.

My problem with butter is finding a truly soft one. Even the whipped butter will tear up the bread when you try to spread it. Leaving it out isn’t an option.

I take it Garfield didn’t get the part in the cat food commercial.

And yet it’ll still be Earl’s fault when she decides it was the wrong one.

I do, too, for about 30 seconds. That’s about how long it takes them to turn to mush.

We can vacuum our hardwood floor from one end to the other and by the time we’re done, there will be dog hair at the end we started from. I think it hides and jumps out at times like that.

My wife is like that. Whatever I think, she thinks the opposite. Doesn’t matter what it is. There have been times when I agree with her only to have her change her mind. Aargg.
