I live in south Texas. 80 degrees at 7am today. High of 98 with a heat index of 104. We have 2 months of winter and 8 months of summer. Love it!!!
I shed a tear for you, Lady Bri. It is devastating to lose a family member, but doubly tragic this way. I know you have lots of special memories about her. :(
I have a plaque that reads:
We, the unwilling,Led by the unqualified,Have been doing the unbelievable with so little, We now attempt the impossible with nothing.
Don’t know who wrote it, but it sure applies.
It is the UNITED STATES of America. We forget that.
What part of “dog potty box” did you not understand? Or are you just desperate for attention?
We built a dog potty box on the covered patio. Took a few days to get our Lab to use it, but I am sooooo glad we did. The heat in South Texas and long hair dogs just doesn’t mix. I swear she smile at us when she uses it. :)
Yeah, I noticed that. Then the weather people talk about “feels like” temps. Which means they took the temp in the sun. When I was a kid we watched Sid Lasher and his sketch pad. He drew the maps, clouds, rain, etc. with a black marker and was right more often than they are today.
Temp is relative anyway. Our city uses the temp at the airport. I live about 10 miles from there and NEVER have the same temp. Always 5 or so degrees higher. Then there is the difference from sun to shade. 5 to 10 degrees cooler.
I stopped carrying a large purse because of my husband. He was always handing my something and would ask if would carry it. Water bottles, cameras, wallet, keys, you name it. He got really upset when I started wearing a fanny pack!!
Mom told me that I was making a HUGE mistake when I married. 38 yrs. with him were the best of my life.
