    1492 Was the also the end of the Arabic occupation of the Iberian Peninsula. The two countries, Portugal and spain, were really quite violent cultures after that long period of warfare. So while we consider Italian, he really was a product of his culture.

    At last, something close to an intelligent conversation, and I just don’t have the time to participate. I’m deeply involved in budgets for next year and an upcoming, protracted trip. On top of all that major computer problems on my wife’s computer.

    You have to understand the Arab sense of honor. I know we’re not talking Arabs here, but when you play in the Arab sandbox you play by their rules. Given the statement that you quote in the UN, that’s an obvious lie and it is perfectly acceptable given their sense of honor. I point you to two books: The Closed Circle and The Arab Mind. I believe they would be revelatory for you.
