I tried to post a comment on “Peanuts Begins” in which I referred to the date of the strip. I used a month slash day notation. Go Comics added a caution that urls are not allowed. I couldn’t post the comment until I had changed it to month-day. This GC obsession with urls is just silly. Have they ever explained their objection?

This strip first ran on Monday, April 2, 1951. “Peanuts Begins” is now only 9 days behind the current month-day. As I wrote this comment, I had used a slash between month and day. GoComics wouldn’t post it and added a caution that URLs are not permitted in comments. Their obsession with URLs is getting silly.

Although a hit in 1959, by which time the comic strip was pretty well known, the Coasters’ “Charlie Brown” was not a reference to our Charlie. It was just a coincidence that the lyric sounded like Charlie.

Which reminds me of what Mark Twain said about Richard Wagner’s music -“it is better than it sounds.”
