And now, for something completely unexpected!
It’s about time we get some overdue action in this story! I didn’t quite see this coming and so quickly. Was this Agent 99’s doing, or is Krypto-Killer making sure Art doesn’t rat him out to the coppers? It seems a little premature for Krypto to try and off Art unless 99 contacted him already. Something is definitely missing.
Thank you very much, Josh. Your kind words and wishes mean a lot to me and they make a difference. I really appreciate you saying that. Thank you again, my friend.
Thank you, my friend. I appreciate it.
Thank you, fellas. I took a time out for physical and mental health reasons. I’ll be honest, I don’t know if I want to participate on the comments anymore. I do miss being here but I have a lot to think about. I’m still alive and lurking. Peace!
You’re not being nosy at all Josh. I did initially step away because of the post and my response to it. I felt that I needed a time out. I don’t know that I want to participate in the comments anymore. It’s very disconcerting that there are so many negative and bogoted comments (even the “disguised” ones) and what hurts as much are the “Likes” that certain people who are supposed to be friends attach to them, you know? During this time, I’ve also been dealing with a severe flare up of an illness I have, or which there is no cure unfortunately. I’m on meds that are helping some but not completely. At any rate, I will consider what you’ve said. Thank you, Josh for reaching out to me. I really do appreciate it very much. My pets say, HI, by the way.
You are incorrect about me! I do NOT assume that every straight person shuns gay people. SOME straight people do, but not all. If that were the case, I would have assumed that about you based on your repeated comments, but I haven’t. I even responded to you previously that I don’t think you have a problem with gay people but you’re incorrect accusations against me suggest that I was wrong about that. Also, I never told you to back off, I stated my opinion (just like you did), that you assumed Lee was straight when there was absolutely no evidence of her sexuality at all. If Lee had the courage to tell her coworkers she was lesbian, she would have done so by now. I haven’t judged or stereotyped anyone, not even you! Your remarks are full of judgment against me. I’ve expressed my right to free speech by expressing my opinion, something you like to hide behind when it’s convenient for you. I’ve always thought that you and I could disagree and maintain a respectful dialogue, but you have proven me wrong about that too. If you don’t want to be viewed as a bigot, then stop acting like one!
I’ve never denied that Mike is emphasizing this relationship either! I’ve agreed on that point numerous times. It just doesn’t bother me like it obviously bothers you. Why is that? Straight relationships can be portrayed ad nauseum and everyone is supposed to accept it, but when it’s 2 men or 2 women, you don’t like it. Instead of making accusations, you should question your own motives for the comments you make. For someone who doesn’t judge or stereotype, or dislike LGBTQ+ people, you’re not very convincing!
I think you’re right.
I hope not. I like Blondie and Dagwood just the way they are. I think their estimate of 10% may be low and outdated, but I agree that there is a lot of representation in the media. I prefer the way the characters were handled on The Walking Dead series. There were a few LGBTQ characters but it wasn’t turned into a huge deal IMHO. Everybody was just mixed in with everybody else. I liked the way they portrayed the character Aaron. He survived losing the one he loved and went on to become a part of the group/family.
And you won’t mention it again. :)
Greetings, fellow Art Authenticators!
Nice effect with the wind in panels 2 and 3. Shelley had done something that I’ve rarely seen in Dick Tracy. They’re in a windy city (if not THE windy city) as evidenced by Lizz’s blowing hair and the leaves on the background tree. A nice touch. Kudos, Shelley!
I think 2 reasons why the relationship issue is still present is because Lizz and Lee are friends as well as collegues and Lizz wants Lee to open up to her about her relationship. Lee is afraid to tell the truth for fear of backlash and/or losing respect from her friends. This is what happens when people come out and I suspect it will be the biggest (and probably the last) issue of this subplot until we hear wedding bells. I, too am anxious to see the criminality of the story kick into gear but I don’t mind the character development.
Now, tell her, Lee and get it over with! In the immortal words of Art Dekko, “Lizz didn’t get where she is by being a brick bat!”
