The AP reports: “In 2021 Republican Rep. Mike Simpson of Idaho proposed removing the earthen berms on either side of the four Lower Snake River dams to let the river flow freely, and to spend $33 billion to replace the benefits of the dams for agriculture, energy and transportation.”

"In October, Biden directed federal agencies to use all available resources to restore abundant salmon runs in the Columbia River Basin, but Biden’s memo stopped short of calling for the removal of the dams.

It is up to congress for any dam removal, not Biden.

Qatar relayed Biden’s U.S. proposals to Hamas while he directly pressured Netanyahu. The U.S. made the commitment to defend Israel’s right to exist in 1948, and has armed Israel since then. The U.S. provided weapons in 1948, 1956, 1967, 1973, and all the military actions in between and since. Up until Netanyahu’s leadership, the weapons were used primarily for defense. Netanyahu has used the U.S. to have an aggressive policy settling land that was not to be settled by the 1948 agreement. He was stopped by Obama, though not reversed, was unbridles under tRump, and once again held to account by Biden. This is not a simple issue that can be summed up by a comic or a short reply. But make no mistake what the role of the U.S. is for Israel. We guarantee Israel’s right to exist by our commitment, but we do not support Israel’s breaking of their commitments. Netanyahu must be stopped from using the U.S. as his ‘big stick’.

The Koch brothers are responsible for this current division and far right-wing move by the Republican Party initiating the ‘Freedom Caucus’ and using their petro-dollars and Putin ties in 2016.

Obama’s “….red line in the sand…” was made to Assad in using poison gas in the Syrian civil war. Putin, not wanting U.S. boots on the ground in the war, stopped Assad from using the gas and had it destroyed. Biden has already pressured Netanyahu for the pause and prisoner exchange that ended today. Biden will pressure Netanyahu further, there is no doubt.

While taking away arms benefits and enables a dictatorship, Americans who want to outlaw arms are not on the side of dictatorships.

Yep, Clinton’s impeachment, Benghazi, all the investigations by Republican/conservatives spending tax payer dollars and never getting any convictions at all. If I were on trial I’d never hire a Republican/conservative lawyer to defend me.

As I wrote before, Netanyahu’s policies brought about this latest ‘war’. He has violated agreements made in 1948 that established Israel, and refused govern all of Israel’s citizens equally. While the U.S. has committed to guarantee Israel’s right to exist, Netanyahu has tried to use the U.S. to further his own agenda. This has had Obama in the past, and Biden now warning Netanyahu about consequences to his actions.

Netanyahu and his hardliners are trying to compare the terrorism by Hamas this month to the Holocaust. We cannot downplay the several thousand who have been killed or the brutality by Hamas terrorists who committed atrocities. But it’s not 6 million. Nor can we ignore Netanyahu’s settlements in lands that were agreed not to be settled by Israel. The more accurate comparison would be Hitler’s policy of ‘Lebensraum’. Netanyahu’s policies are to take lands with settlers for Israel’s growth, ’more “elbow room”. In the end, two wrongs do not make a right.
