I would argue it IS the West. I think Putin did not expect such a reaction. See from the US, it might not seem so, but from here in Europe, it looks as hard decisions being made, and their cost is being felt: Germany rearming, the UE preparing a fossil fuels’ embargo, NATO sending heavy equipment to Ukraine, Sweden and Finland soon to join NATO, doubling its border with Russia… It all adds up.
You’re right. Still, I was only answering the comment about nobody looking for the « made in Russia » label. Turns out quite a few people do. Some are probably reconsidering now…
Actually, Russia is one of the biggest arms’ seller, and its weapons are quite looked for. Amongst their main customers: India, China, South East Asia countries, Turkey (yes, despite being a NATO member)…
If he paid them for the power supplied…
