One LIKE for the Peanuts reference, and many more for kicking it up a few notches.

“Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky pledged to give protections to Russian soldiers who surrender as Russian President Vladimir Putin doubles down on his invasion by calling up 300,000 reservists to replenish lost forces. Zelensky made the offer to Russians directly during his nightly video address Saturday evening, promising Ukraine could guarantee three terms to soldiers in exchange for deserting their posts. First, Russian soldiers who surrender will be treated in a “civilized manner.” Second, the circumstances of their surrender, including if it was voluntary, would be kept private. Third, Ukraine would find a way to prevent them from being returned to Russia to face desertion charges."

CNN has also reported about this.

Dr. Denys was our family doctor, back in the 50s and 60s. Although he only lived a couple blocks from his office, when needed he would make house calls on his way home after regular hours. His nurse would have asked mom enough questions for him to have a pretty good idea of what the problem was. If any sort of medicine was indicated, he would have it in his well-worn doctor bag. I last saw him for a pre-college physical in 1969.

Lewis Carroll’s book Through the Looking-Glass was probably most responsible for the image of Humpty Dumpty as an egg. However, Alice says that he looks like an egg, not that he is one.

In the formation of the Soviet Union, if there was not already a pro-soviet government in place, the Russians would install a puppet government in the countries they invaded. They also put Russian bureaucrats in place to ensure that things were run ‘properly.’ Quite similar to what Putin is trying to do in Ukraine.

A good server will time their appearance to the moment after your mouth is full of food. “How is everything? Can I get you anything else?” Of course, you cannot respond, and they will not be seen again. That is until it’s too late to request a drink refill, or order dessert.

Even the pro at the course where I worked wasn’t that good, Brutus. On a par four dog leg he tried to take a shortcut by lofting the ball over the woods lining the fairway. I heard the ball rattle around in the branches, before landing on the next tee.
