Every spring my dad would do that, too. Test the old Johnson, to make sure it was ready for summer.

Large cities, with all the buildings and pavement, can affect regional weather and weather patterns.

There have been a few times when it hurt too much to sit up on the edge of the bed and put my feet on the floor. It was less painful to wiggle around until I could get my knees on the floor, and then slowly work my way to a semi-standing position. Good thing I wasn’t trying to hurry to the bathroom.

I can rattle off my grade school teachers, but after that it becomes hit or miss. Miss Welnick, my first grade teacher at Elmore School, will never be forgotten. She encouraged us to read. Read to learn, read for fun, read anything and everything we could. The love of reading was very important to her, as she recalled during an interview when she was 103 years old.

I know that’s true, because my cat was like that. I’d leave work around 5pm and get home in about 15 minutes. My son said that Spooky took up his watch on the front windowsill about 5 o’clock. If I stopped at the grocery store on the way home, it might have taken me 15 minutes longer. Then Spooky would adjust for the difference.

A cupcake has frosting/icing. Since a muffin doesn’t, it’s supposed to be healthier. When in doubt, lick off the frosting first. Then you can eat healthy.
