I saw the famous little mermaid sculpture in Copenhagen harbor. Guess what color she is? No one in Denmark ever had an issue with it.

In my area, gas prices dropped $2 a gallon from the short-lived peak. And $1.70 from the longer-lived peak of just over $5 a gallon. Today, nearby gas stations are at $3.30 to $3.49. Oil prices are now lower than they’ve been since Russia started its’ needless war against Ukraine, which caused the big spike in gas prices in the first place. Those oil prices have actually been lower for a few weeks now. I could easily attribute most inflation to the aforementioned war vis-a-vis grain prices, plus supply shortages (climate [drought] decreases plus fewer transport personnel/drivers), plus production shortages worldwide due to climate (floods/drought) and pandemic etc etc.

By whole world standards, the United States is doing far better than most of the rest of the world.

We should rejoice in our good fortune.

Imagine, a President of the United States engaging in espionage, should be the most serious case of espionage in our nation’s history. Yet it’s lost beneath such a long list of crimes and scandals that it may never claim the historical importance it deserves.

It’s extremely hard to keep more than a dozen Trump scandals and crimes in my head at any one time.

The only conservative voices these days come from the “moderate” politicians of the Democratic party. Sometimes, true conservative opinion can still be found in places like The Lincoln Project or Republicans Against Trump (aka the RINOs). “Main stream” Republicans these days are either MAGA, reactionary, or fascist. And I’m being redundant: MAGAs these days are all reactionary, or fascist, though most of them don’t realize it, because they don’t understand the political spectrum.

This ain’t quite over yet. This thing could still seriously kill you, vaccinated or not. If you are exposed, you will get infected, as with every disease known to humankind (smallpox, polio, diphtheria). If you have been vaccinated, you are much less likely to suffer severe disease or death.

On the both sides issue, the real journalist will dig out the actual facts, and not report opinions from both sides. If one side says it’s sunny outside, and the other side says it’s raining, the true journalist will not present both sides, but go to a window and report whether it’s raining or sunny. It will be actually sunny, or raining. Occasionally, very occasionally, the journalist may find the weather changeable. Only then, could a debate be possible.

We’ll find out shortly how stupid (or not) Wisconsin voters are.
