Sudden surge? The F150 has been the highest selling vehicle in the U.S. since 1981. Next? Dodge Ram. Next? Chevy Silverado. My guess is you live in an urban area. Trucks are a way of life in rural areas and a necessity.

I would only ask who is to question whether or not someone “needs” any vehicle? I have never met anyone who owned a truck that didn’t use it for some reason. I don’t doubt there are some that don’t “need” a truck, but they are awfully expensive to buy and run for just a whim. I question any “survey” or opinion that says a majority of truck owners don’t use them for some reason. I don’t believe it is a “fact”.

If “multiple” means two, than you are correct. For years there has been an urban legend that falling coconuts kill more people than sharks with the number of 150 deaths being attributed to coconuts falling on people. There is actually no data to support this claim and in fact, available data shows that at most, there may be two deaths per year attributed to falling coconuts. Many of these occur during severe storms with high winds. One was a monkey trained to climb and retrieve coconuts throwing a coconut down and striking his trainer!

    Sigh….it’s a comic going for a gag.

It’s more worry than anger. You’re not a parent I take it.

First, saying you can afford it doesn’t mean you should waste money. Second, it is healthier to cook from scratch. As a side comment to the idiot who says she was working for no pay, that was a jest by the owner.

What did you do before you got married? And what woman in her right mind would marry a man who was just looking for a cook (and probably a maid). Cooking is not hard. One has to be an idiot not to be able to figure out at least basics. Fry or scramble some eggs and cook bacon or sausage. Make a sandwich. Grill a burger, steak, or fish. Make a salad.

    Seriously? Riveted? By a comic?

Apparently, there are numerous records foe various world records of skydiving. A world record of 80 women in a skydiving formation was set in 2022 breaking the previous record of 65 set in 2016. Not sure how those records differ from the record in the Guinness Book called the largest parachuting sequential freefall formation (women) was achieved by 117 participants from P3 Skydiving (USA) in Perris, California, USA on 17 October 2014.

    I found nothing about 201 in 2009.

What is “normal”? So many times I hear how “climate change” is responsible for some weather condition. “The hottest day in 50 years!” or “a storm not seen in 100 years!” There was talk a couple years ago about the “increased frequency and strength of hurricanes”. What happened to that? The fact is that the 60’s and 70’s had a lull in hurricanes versus previous decades. Worse storms occurred in the previous century but there were not the same populations on the coasts and news coverage of them. So Katrina and a couple other storms, as devastating as they were, were not out of the ordinary. Climate change did not determine where and when landfall would happen. Nor create the conditions that determine storm intensities. Climate change is not responsible for set fires by men. Your anecdotal memories of a “normal” December is not evidence of man influenced climate change.
