I love this cartoon strip. A functioning loving family including extended family with many successful in their chosen careers. Now let’s see if they can run a successful “franchise” once they get it going.

Gut laugh here. I hate scents that smell like food if it isn’t food. Makes me too hungry. Especially cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice in apple pies and pumpkin pies.

The entire west is in extreme drought conditions. Our reservoirs are the lowest they have been in years. The Great Salt Lake and Utah lake are shrinking as well. Sigh

The old stethoscope belongs to Opal? Was she in the medical profession in her past working life????

Just finished taking a photo shoot of the fall colors in Provo Canyon. The colors were on fire! Bright orange red leaves, yellow leaves, red leaves mixed among the fir trees. Fall is absolutely beautiful here.

I totally agree. I grew up in an household where my dad didn’t hug. He came from a very European culture that didn’t show lots of physical affection to family members. That didn’t mean my dad didn’t love us kids. He just showed his love differently in his intense interest in our daily activities, playing ball with us, being home every evening instead of being at work, helping us with our homework, calling us several times a week when we were on our own to see how we were doing. When I met my future husband’s family, all they did was hug and kiss each other. It took a long time to get used to a different way of showing affection. My “personal” space that was about 3 to 5 feet around me slowly shrank as got to know my new in- laws. My mom and I finally agreed that dad needed to be taught how to hug. This was when they were in their 70’s. I’m convinced hugging is a very positive activity to have in our family.

Hmmm. One of the thug kids from the crime gang. Wonder how this will play out?

Loving hugs and kisses from family (Grandmothers, Aunts, Uncles Moms, Dads), etc. are the best! It is a blessing to have family members who show their love for each other.

Am just smiling and enjoying a good laugh. Hubby uses an electric razor to trim his beautiful white beard. He tells the kids he is Santa Clause’s cousin.
