Unfortunately, if one wants Turner Classic Movies (TCM), one must have a cable provider. I hope that they someday allow direct subscription. THEN, it would be very easy to cut the cord. I have tried to cut it every year for years, but the options cost the same or more and result in managing several different companies, so more straightforward to stay with Comcast. Yes, their customer service totally sucks but we must have a “landline” because cell phone coverage in our neighborhood sucks. The quadruple package of high speed internet, “landline” phone, Verizon cell phones, and cable (for TCM) still is most cost effective for us at the moment.

These emails are very disturbing to me. I wonder if someone subscribed me as a joke.

The project has three key objectives:

1.Expand the circulation of Imprimis, our digest of liberty, to reach millions more Americans.

2.Increase the number of citizens (especially younger Americans) enrolling in our free online courses, such as “Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution,” “The Great American Story: A Land of Hope,” and our newest course, “American Citizenship and Its Decline” with Victor Davis Hanson.

3.Launch additional Hillsdale-affiliated classical K-12 charter schools nationwide and provide, free of charge, our American classical K-12 curriculum (including the new Hillsdale 1776 Curriculum) to thousands more American teachers and homeschoolers. And your generous support is critical to our success. Here’s why…

Hillsdale College conducts its educational outreach efforts on behalf of liberty—as it does all of its work—while refusing to accept one penny of government funding, not even indirectly in the form of federal or state student grants or loans.

…As the forces of anti-Americanism redouble their own efforts to undermine informed patriotism in our schools and our culture, and to subvert constitutionalism in our government, we must engage them ever more aggressively—including on the central battlefield of education.

That’s why I hope you’ll make your most generous gift in this critical year for America.

Every dollar you can give will help expand our Project to Defend Liberty Nationwide by Reaching and Teaching Millions in 2022.

Thank you for your generosity. I hope you’ll stand with us. Together, we will work to preserve freedom for future generations of Americans.

I received a very concerning email last night. No idea how I got on the mailing list. Here it is:Dear fellow American,

Anti-Americanism has long been evident in higher education. But recently, it has spread from college campuses to other areas of American life.

Today it asserts itself in many forms—including critical race theory—in our government, in our K-12 schools, in our corporations, in the media, in sports, and even in our military.

The recent election in Virginia brought the corruption of American K-12 education, in particular, to the forefront of our national conversation.

The breakdown (especially among younger Americans) of informed patriotism—without which self-government is impossible—is not something we can allow to continue.

While there is reason to remain hopeful, there is much work to be done to reverse the current trends in the months and years ahead.

Education is where this attack on America began—and it is the battlefield on which we must engage the Left in defense of liberty and limited constitutional government.

Hillsdale College has been deeply engaged in this battle for decades. We are now determined, with the help of supporters like you, who agree with Hillsdale’s mission, to redouble our efforts at this crucial time for our nation—no matter the cost.

That’s why we are expanding our Project to Defend Liberty Nationwide by Reaching and Teaching Millions in 2022.

You can support this vital project through this link: https://secured.hillsdale.edu/hillsdale/preserve-freedom-for-future-generations

The Project to Defend Liberty Nationwide by Reaching and Teaching Millions will give informed patriots across the country the effective ability to defend liberty through education. And we need your help.

Actually, Russia’s aggressive invasion to re-establish empire is likely to spark WW3.

This seems straight out of Putin’s Russian propaganda. Shame on you, Mr. Rall. Even if this were true, what is your point? You mean the very same Ukraine that Trump tried to bribe? Double shame on you, Mr. Rall. Oh, and if we were to go to war, what has Biden’s son to do with it? Nothing. Triple shame on you, Mr. Rall.

The corn maize is perfect. Anyone who has been in one knows how much “fun” it is to find one’s way out. It can be downright panic-inducing. Which, of course, is the point.

So, if corporations are people, do they get to vote, too? I mean other than buying politicians.
