   Whenever I am going to have “recliner time”, I make it a point to visit the bathroom, secure a fresh drink and maybe something to nibble on so that I can last as long as possible before getting up just in case Onyx decides to grace me with one of his rare “let’s sleep on mama” naps. Normally he won’t lie on me for more than a few minutes at a time (prefers sleeping on the ottoman right by my left hand) but occasionally I will be blessed with an actual 2 hour kitty nap. Rare but treasured!

   All my music is actual files curated into an app called Musicolet on my tablet. I don’t use any streaming or online because I’m an absolute control freak who insists on actually having the books and music I want in my grubby little paws where no one can take it away from me. At one point it was a big collection of CDs, but then I ripped all of those into a computer and started purchasing/downloading the actual files rather than using a streaming service. When I stop listening, the playlist just holds position until I come back, even if I restart the tablet entirely for some reason.

   I remember onionskin and carbon paper too! I actually used them as a transcriptionist for a court reporter back in the very early ’80s! On a Selectric typewriter that was so awesome for the time.
