For a great explanation of crypto (and why you should stay away from it), look for a video on youtube called “line goes up”. It’s a long and thorough explanation.

I once watched a child fall down in a playground and look around to see momma didn’t notice it. So she got up, went over behind the bench momma was sitting on, threw herself down, and proceeded to cry. Worked like a charm.

When you have to put down a phone number on a form, land lines are the way to go. Then all the spam calls go to your land line and you can ignore it! :)

And they taste great pan fried in butter and soy sauce!

Longer boats are faster due to the hull length allowing a higher displacement speed (friction forces go up, but the amount of power needed to go faster when you’re less than your “hull speed” is drastically less than when you are beyond it). Longer snow skis lower the psi of the ski and so reduce friction forces (less pressure times the coefficient of friction means less drag), which is good because the propulsion force is a constant (due to gravity). So while longer is faster in both cases, the reasons why are completely unrelated. Except maybe water skis, where the displacement speed mechanism can sometimes hold true if the skier is displacing, but is not the case when the skier is planing along surface of the water. So she is making a false correlation assumption, which is a very bad habit to get into.

If she’s referring to water skis, then maybe.
