In the Amish communities in USA, the children only go to school until age 16, even if they want to go past then.

When my dad took shop in his high school, he was supposed to make an ash tray. However, he had the wood (oak) all cut for a desk before his teacher knew. This was approx. 1936. My nephew now uses that desk. I wanted it, but Dad made it with a left knee-hole, since he was right-handed. I am left-handed, so couldn’t use it very well.

But who tells the patient that thenurses are in navy blue, and the assistants are in maroon? What about the interms? What color do they wear? Around here, it seems they all wear whatever colors/prints they want.

Thanks for the info. I am also told that our local Veterans Affairs Commission can help, as well.

i don’t know what he flew, he didn’t talk about WWII much to me. He was in the 13th Bomb Squadron in Korea, I think he flew a Night Intruder? I’m trying to find out what he did to earn a DFC/Air Medal. Another long story; I don’t have his military papers.

I think it depends on how long you were married. When we separated at 8 years, he said he was going to file then, so at that point, I didn’t expect to get any of his USAF retirement. But because he didn’t file for another 10 years, I could have gotten some of his retirement, as well as Soc. Sec. It’s a long story.

My ex and i were married for 18 yrs, the last 10 we were separated. When he died, my social security from him was more than I was earning at my job + my soc. sec. So, I was able to retire, and currently am doing ok.

My dad, USAF Bomber pilot WWII, Korea, Berlin Airlift, part of the Greatest Generation, (and yes, I’m proud of him!) always told me “Take off is optional, Landing is mandatory.”
