Reading this from the perspective of 2023, Mrs. O has many good moments to come.

I usually love this strip, but this whole mole-owl-raccoon story arc is confusing and has just lost me. Too many characters to keep track of . Hope we can get back to what made this strip great.

Maybe both boys are color blind?

They’ve actually been doing this somewhere in summer of 2023, NYC I think. Mostly retired former lifeguards.

It’s the other side of the FENCE, not the road.

My frugal depression era Dad felt the same way about paying to have garbage hauled away. He had a compost pile to take care of some of the grosser items.

I used to read this strip every day in my daily comics email. It was nicely whacky with interesting art. Somewhere along the line it lost its appeal and I deleted it. I recently read one from a link in a promotional email, and then clicked back to the first one. A couple dozen strips in, there have been quite a few chuckles. I always liked the bartender (of course, I would not like him in real life). I think I’ll add this back to my daily reads.

This cop has apparently never seen “Repo Man.”

A little research reveals that it probably originated in the 1930s among jazz musicians. Don’t think MY grandpa ever said it, nor my dad. I think it became more widespread with teens in the 50’s as you noted.
