Because having your species on one planet is suicidal. One wonders if any dinosaurs gained intelligence and left this world before the K/T killed them off? Or anything before them.

Ah, Red and Rover, have spacesuit, will travel! The stars my destination..To see what is on the other side of the mountain, what is beyond this horizon, to sail beyond the sunset. to find what is on the other side of the sky.

.To visit the islands in the sky, to moonwalk under the naked sun on a fall of moondust by earthlight, to go on a martian odyssey and travel beyond the farthest star in a galactic derelict.

.To be a citizen of the galaxy and walk on alpha ralpha boulevard and to play the game of rat and dragon while listening to the hydrogen sonata under a night sky sprinkled with the stars, like dust..To seek out the left hand of darkness pass through the fire on the deep, find the mote in god’s eye, and learn the nine billion names of go.d .To open the door into summer and see the light of other days on ancient shores. To pass through a wrinkle in time and search for the end of eternity before the end of all things. To travel the glory road with the gods themselves..To answer the question, “Are we there yet?”.Oh, and to avoid Vogon hyperspatial express routes…

remember to take a couple of towels … the good ones

@NightGauntAccording to legend, the Polarian dinosaurs (evolved from raptors) did just that…

We may leave Earth at some point, but I figure most of us are always going to be coming back to visit as often as we can, so long as the planet remains habitable, and it’ll be a sad day indeed when it stops being capable of supporting life, especially if we the human race bring it about.

There is much beauty on this planet. Unfortunately for every beautiful picture I can show you and ugly one.

It would be better to keep this planet worth living as to colonize an other one!!

To sail beyond the sunset, and the bathsOf all the western stars, until I die.It may be that the gulfs will wash us down:It may be we shall touch the Happy Isles,And see the great Achilles, whom we knew.Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and tho’We are not now that strength which in old daysMoved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;One equal temper of heroic hearts,Made weak by time and fate, but strong in willTo strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

From “Ulysses” by Alfred, Lord Tennyson

Night-Gaunt49They are in the upper left corner of the picture. And the red skies are from atmospheric pollution (which, granted, could come from volcanoes). Even beauty has its costs.

Well, Brian, it looks like your audience is ready for an adventure. And I too want to roam the stardust lanes, visit the Pillars of Creation, the Horsehead Nebula while it’s still there, and see beautiful Andromeda (my computer wallpaper) a little closer. But for me, I gotta say, Earth will ALWAYS be home, with everything that word means; and today’s strip really got me. Thank you!
