There is a Yorkshire Terrier called Yorky in the Fred Basset strip. He is friendly and also courageous. Fred Basset would be represented early in the book by the basset hound but Yorky would have to wait until the end to be represented as this strip shows.

German Shepherd dogs are also known as Alsatians. They may be represented very early in the book but they are likely to be represented as: ALSATIAN: See GERMAN SHEPHERD. They would still be represented early but under G rather than A.

The best dog is the one at your side and in your heart.
