Yesterday I thought about the number of times I posted about Trump’s golfing and travel expenses after he complained about Obama and said he’d be too busy to golf. those were the “good old days” before that became a minor transgression compared to insulting US allies and praising dictators, sabotaging the economy by tariffs and still working to decimate the ACA. So many more on the list…….

What would be even MORE amazing would be FAUX Telling THE TRUTH, even though it’s TOTALLY AGAINST their Corporate Policy

If we were interested in news and facts we wouldn’t be distracted. The 24-hour news cycle needs to have two even sides, info-tainment and “both-sides” fallacies to keep people watching

All of the Media has become the Enquirer. The attention span of a gnat.

Unfortunately, the mainstream media is caught between the proverbial “rock” and “hard place”! By DEFINITION, everything the American President says, does, posts OR “tweets” is defined as “NEWS” and so must be reported and analyzed!

Believe it or not, the fact that 99.9% of what Donald John Trump says or “tweets” is either an outright LIE or, at best, a factual distortion, really doesn’t enter into the equation, at all – it must be reported! Now, here’s the “catch”. If it is a lie or distortion then that, too, must be reported, lest the audience start believing the ‘alternate reality’ described by Donnie as being the “truth”! (it is worth noting that only ONE “news” organization reports EVERYTHING Donnie says and does as the “gospel truth” and that is “Fox News” which is widely disparaged as being a mere entertainment venue, and not REALLY a news network, at all!

Here’s the problem in a nutshell. Recently, I’ve noted that, especially on the Right, there is the assumption that news “reporters” have become news “editorialists” and are reporting opinions and NOT facts, like good, old Walter Cronkite did for all those years on the Columbia Broadcasting System (C.B.S.) There are two fallacies with that position, one practical, one moral.

The practical fallacy is that people don’t realize that C.B.S. lost money on practically EVERY Cronkite broadcast! The C.B.S. news organization was ALWAYS a “loss leader” for the network! It was fabulously expensive to maintain and was there as the “shining jewel in the corporate crown” so to speak. The C.B.S. news organization was supposed to be the shining example of the System’s commitment to the American public! Nothing more; nothing less! Today, news organizations must justify their existence to the “bean-counters” of the organization or they’re ‘dead meat’!

The moral fallacy of the “Cronkite” argument, is that, when Walter was delivering the daily dose of news to America, American politicians actually believed that "lying to the American public was a bad Idea and should be avoided, if possible! So good, ole Walter NEVER had to seriously “correct” a politician on-air – ever, to my knowledge.

Donald john Trump, on the other hand has in the time from his election to (I believe) June of this year, uttered over 3,200 separate, verifiably outright lies or blatant distortions – and he’s still going strong! Today’s news “reporter” cannot help but be a news “editorialist”!

The posters on the Right mourn the absence of a straight “news cast”! Trust me, those of us on the Left are right there, mourning with you! I, personally long for the day when I can greet a presidential statement without having one finger poised over the keyboard of a fact-checking website!

If Donald John Trump EVER spoke the truth, it would be another sign of the coming Apocalypse. But, since he is mentally incapable of doing that, we’re safe. In other words, EVERYTHING TRUMP SAYS, TWEETS, OR POSTS ELSEWHERE IS A LIE!! PERIOD!!!

I usually watch CBC news, or CTV, which aren’t perfect, but at least they realize that there is a world outside of the US. CNN can be entertaining, but it has no scope and what passes for interviews are pitiful. MSNBC at least allows people to talk for more than 30 seconds.

How to save our sanity and destroy Trump? NO PRESS COVERAGE FROM ANYONE, WORLD-WIDE, FOR TWO WEEKS!! He’d go off the edge, of the roof at Trump Tower.
