The situation in rural America has been deliberately designed by 1%ers to produce MAGAts. They own the news outlets that broadcast the conservative propaganda, and use them specifically for that purpose. In some areas, the only actual news is on the local main stream networks, and they have bent over backwards for years to not take sides, even when one side is obviously lying. And, the people they have coffee with, go to church (or the bar) with etc are dealing with the same situation. That means that real people that you know and trust are backing up what you are getting from the propaganda machine. Unless you are a really intelligent, involved person, you are going to accept the world you see, unaware that it has been paid for and organized by people who are working against your best interests.Now, consider the possibility that the world you live in is not only being exposed as fake by the real news agencies, but even Faux news has now decided they can’t keep up the hoax and will have to get real occasionally. You are faced with the situation of having lived in a farce your entire life. Can you imagine how frightening that would be? Be generous with them. They are victims of the 1%. If we don’t rub their noses in the situation and support them, they may be able to see the truth.

As a consequence, they wear as a badge of honor the delusion that replaces an awareness of empirical truth and facts with what they believe to be an uncanny paranormal ability that only they see invisible conspiracies and only they know how to simplistically “fix” problems we don’t have, in ways nobody else understands. When rejected or refuted by facts, they can erupt in a violent, snowball effect of anger and grievance that only exacerbates their pathology.

Senate Republicans are reversing course on a veterans health care bill, signaling they’ll now help it quickly move to President Joe Biden’s desk after weathering several days of intense criticism for delaying the legislation last week.

Republicans say they blocked the bill because of concerns spearheaded by Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) over what the retiring senator called a “budgetary gimmick” — language that he argued could allow certain funds to be used for programs unrelated to veterans’ health care. That language was in the bill when it initially passed the Senate in an 84-14 vote, before a technical snag forced the chamber to vote on it again. Democrats have questioned the turnabout sharply given that 25 Republicans voted to block the bill over the budgetary issue only on its second trip to the floor, not its first.

AND, in another example of Republicans HATING Average Americans: Rancid Rand Paul is complaining that Democratic Senate Candidate Charles Booked has PERSONALLY delivered a truckload of DONATED Drinking water to the flood-stricken counties in Eastern Kentucky.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul and Charles Booker, his Democratic opponent this fall in Kentucky, traded shots at each other Monday involving each other’s response to the deadly flooding that devastated several Appalachian counties last week.

Booker personally delivered a truck full of water and supplies to an emergency shelter at Letcher County Central High School in flood-ravaged Whitesburg on Saturday, with his campaign office in Louisville now full of more supplies that will be delivered soon after his call for supporters to provide donations.

But when asked by a reporter at his Monday press conference in Louisville if he felt like he was doing enough for the flood victims — and the optics of his opponent being there on the ground with his volunteer effort — Paul countered that politicians should stay out of the way.

“I think most people think that the people who should be doing the responding are the professionals," Paul said. “You know, politicians out there having their picture taken probably isn’t that useful.”Booker shot back at Paul’s comments later Monday, issuing a statement that the senator’s “pitiful response is yet more evidence that he does not care about the people of Kentucky.”

“He’s talking like someone who hasn’t been on the ground, because if he saw what I saw, he’d know that everyone’s help is needed,” Booker said. “If he actually listened to the people on the ground, he’d know they are asking for supplies to help with cleanup, hot meals, and debris removal. They’re asking for help finding loved ones.”
