How does one blind oneself in this way? How does an entire political party (with a few notable exceptions) blind itself in this way?

I think it is wonderful that the elephants have become so, so charitable and forgiving.

The elephant needs to be held to his own standards and be investigated thoroughly for treason, murder, tax theft and covid spreading.

I’m tiring of maligning the elephant as representative of the GOP.From now on, I’m recommending the GOP be more up-to-date in representation: the party of covid. Let the virus molecule henceforth be ever-more their representative.

How one billionaire family bankrolled election lies, white nationalism — and the Capitol riot

The Mercers funded numerous key players who helped foment the Jan. 6 insurrection, though their full involvement remains unclear. Along with far-right candidates and groups, they have also funded the far-right social network Parler, which was used to coordinate the Capitol siege, and Cambridge Analytica, the now-defunct London-based data firm that stole Facebook user data to help Trump’s 2016 campaign target potential voters.

“As I discovered first-hand, the Mercers are exceptionally skillful at obfuscating and masking their political enterprises,” David Carroll, a professor at The New School in Manhattan who sued Cambridge Analytica for his data in London, said in an email to Salon. “I marveled at how their ownership of Cambridge Analytica was effectively shielded from the U.K. courts where they were prosecuted.”

It has ALWAYS been a question of WHO was committing the offence to the republican party. They’ve never been any good at policing their own, and here’s why. Note in the above cartoon all the foibles listed – republicans routines commit those and more on a daily basis – they are outraged by such conduct ONLY when they see those actions carried out by others.

You see, it is NOT the ACT that’s contemptible, but the person carrying OUT the act! Once you grasp that fact, it all becomes clear.

Murder is not condemned, but only certain people are allowed to commit murder with impunity. This is the republican philosophy, in a nutshell.

This is always one of my favorite political cartoonists. Just curious, does anyone know why Rogers always depicts the elephant with mismatched pupils? One always has the tan circle.

Excellent Rob, except it doesn’t go far enough. Wednesday night, the Repugnantklan house caucus came out after their vote saying that they just wanted to get along, and portrayed themselves as victims of the left, accusing Maxine Waters and others of persecuting them.

It is the official policy of the United States that we do not negotiate with terrorists and hostage-takers, lest we lend positive reinforcement to their despicable tactics. While that’s usually understood to apply to radical foreign groups like Al-Qaeda or ISIS, or common domestic kidnappers, the patriotic thing to do is to apply the exact same policy to the terrorists across the aisle in Congress.

What kind of compromise is possible with agents of dementia, death, and destruction, anyway? Settling for only weirdness, maiming, and damage? Hold out for sanity, health, and integrity!

Kevin McCarthy requested a one-on-one meeting with Marjorie Taylor Greene and emerged from it evidently having fallen for every single lie she told him, which raises the question: “Kevin McCarthy: dupe or dope?”.

Typical Republican gaslighting. Take a wrecking ball to government, then say “see, government’s broken”, delay impeachment until after Trump leaves office, then say “we can’t impeach Trump, he’s no longer president”. If Obama had done any of the impeachable things Trump did on a near daily basis they’d have sent the mob after him.

Marjorie Green, the one who wants to murder her coworkers and thinks Jewish space lasers cause forest fires, just got a standing ovation by about half of the GOP reps in the House. Republicans are the worst of the worst.

Convicting Trump would not do him harm. He’s already out of office. But a conviction would show that the Constitution does matter. And it would send a message to future presidents that there are boundaries to their actions.
