This is a coin of a sentence by Will Rogers who said, “I’m not a member of an organized political party…I’m a Democrat.” Who would’ve guessed that the same quote could be reworked to apply to the Repubs.

Kevin McCarthy says George Santos ‘will get seated on committees’

Just last week, newly minted GOP House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said that George Santos (R-NY) should not be a member of any top House committees. “No,” McCarthy told reporters on Jan. 11 when asked if Santos should be seated on any key committees.

Will Rogers meant something different. His kind of disorganization was more like an unruly bunch who disagreed without violence or extreme name calling.

Will Rogers notwithstanding, my first reaction was thinking of Monty Python Black Knight: “It’s just a flesh wound”.
