As of writing this comment, more than 300 Palestinian children have been killed by Israeli retaliation. And those are just the confirmed numbers. How is that better than Hamas? How?

Except that the Palestinian civilians are completely at the mercy of the Israelis. And the Israeli leadership has signalled and demonstrated that they are unwilling to show very little mercy, if any at all.

This attack was done specifically to provoke a response…which justifies more attacks…which will result in a further response…which justifies even more attacks…

    A vicious and bloody circle.

I so fondly remember Shock and Awe in Iraq where only bad guys were killed.

At least the Israelis can vote BiBi out of power if they so choose. Hamas took power by force.

I don’t condone the acts of war. What would you do if the world gave away your land to other people and left you a strip 25 miles long and 6 miles wide for over 2 millions of your people to live?

The people advocating for civil war in this country need to realize the collateral damage produced from it. Men, women, and children. Mothers, fathers, wives, husbands, sisters, brothers, sons, and daughters. Everyone suffers and dies.

Out of the 2.3 million people in the Gaza strip, an estimated 15-40,000 are Hamas terrorists. One million of those people are 14 years old or younger! Killing hundreds of children for each Hamas fighter is Israels standard response. They do not have the morally higher ground here. Hamas are horrible soulless cretins. So is Netanyahu!

Keep going with this, Rob. Maybe some in our government and more Americans will understand how and why many of us in the USA and around the world are seeing this.

If you don’t support Hammas 110%, you don’t get to live there. There is no separation from being a Islamist, a Palestinian, or Hammas.

    Israelis ≠ Zionists

    Palestinians ≠ Hamas

innocent human beings on both sides ≠ raging, cruel, vindictive åssholes on both sides

As true as this is, there is still a great deal of hatred in the minds of those on both sides.

Neither side cares. Israel bombs the Gaza Strip, while Hamas soldiers gun down civilians.

What I find a mystery is why the Jewish people, who have suffered for millennia at the hands of others, would give the same cruelty to the Palestinians.

I hope it isn’t because of the myths in the Bible about that part of the Mediterranean area belonging to the Jewish people.

If that is the case, the Israelis need to grow up and learn the real history of the land they think they own.

Yup. Hard as it is to imagine for some people, there are good people on both sides of the border. It just happens that it doesn’t include their leaders.

Yeah, Rogers, both sides are the same, right? If you had a daughter, would you prefer that she be raised in Tehran or TelAviv? Or perhaps among the Taliban? Did you oppose killing the head of ISIS? We stalked and killed Osama bin Laden—does that mean we’re a nation of murderers? You seem to have trouble sorting out moral issues… easier just to say both sides are wrong… gets lots of likes but shows moral cowardice.

Well, Steve Scalise had one day of being a possible speaker, but as of late Thursday he’s crawled back into his safe little KKK hole to lick his wounds. And even House Republicans admit that, if he couldn’t conjure up enuf support to win election, the guy he beat for the caucus endorsement, Jim Jordan, doesn’t have a chance.

So with a crisis in the Middle East (where we have no confirmed ambassadors or military leaders) and the end of the continuing budget resolution drawing nearer every day (meaning a first-ever default by the USA on its debts and obligations), Republicans continue to demonstrate that they don’t have what it takes to run the country. Why would anybody vote for them after this?
