Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal by Zach Weinersmith for March 03, 2015
Transcript:
God wants there to be no suffering for human beings. But the one time he became a human, his baseline experience was getting crowned with thorns, nailed to a cross, and stabbed with a spear. So... What if God thinks there is no real suffering on earth because his benchmark for human existence is getting tortured to death? Perspective is hell. No, it's the other way around!

Isn’t the whole scheme on life on Earth one of consuming at the expense of another, predator and prey on the single cellular level up through the multi-cellular level, bacteria to blue whales? Is that Evil, or Terrestrial Nature? How would life on Earth have developed without it? Do other planets have more benign systems? Do the various Starmakers have different projects with different methods?

This is, of course, overlooking several key doctrines about God (and associates) and his practices, but for the sake of the gag, I can still chuckle at it.

I don’t follow his logic. Wouldn’t such an experience convey that life was chock full of suffering?

yeah well I think the message would have been lost if Jesus came to earth saying “God doesn’t want you to suffer look ay me, i’m a billionaire playboy.”
